Ray is one of my three!
I was fortunate as Rays work shop is about 3 miles from my house.
It can be difficult to hand your project over to an unknown paint shop when you have put so much work into building it, at least I could keep dropping in and checking on progress.
I have added a couple of pictures of my car.

I know Ray is good and knows these cars better than probably anyone.
Yours looks very good.

I like the cam cover - and the spelling. I'm not keen on correct spelling or logos on these, but each to their own. Cam cover spelling is the best alternative I've seen :scorecard:

All three prep and paint costs back (after having to chase one of them for days).
My original preferred people are going to do the work as A) I know they only do work on GRP and have a great reputation B) they are only a few miles up the road which will help and C) they were the cheapest by quite a bit.

Not going to be done until March, though! o_O

Little update. All exterior 'bling' fitted and levelled. Headlight covers fitted, which took an age.
All lights fitted, wired and tested. I did buy some decent H4 headlight bulbs (Philips racing vision GT200) as the originals were terrible. Then I realised I have wired them up wrong, so the voltage was going 'in reverse' which was the reason they were so crap. New ones are much better, though, especially as they are now wired correctly.

Wipers fitted and tested. Door mirrors have been re-mounted (for the third time) so they are now of some use. The stainless bonnet vent surround has been adjusted and now fits. Boot lock assembly has been trial fitted and tested. Bonnet catch works. Exterior door handles and mechanisms have been fitted and tested.

Bootlid and bonnet rubber 'stops' are installed and have been adjusted to fit.

I have trial fitted all four wire wheels with the hub adapters. These fit and the fronts now clear the brake calipers.

Apart from paint prepping and spraying, the exterior is finished.

Going to start on the interior now.

A few pics of the 'bling'.....

Amazing how far you have come with this difficult kit. Well done. I knew you would get there. 👍

Without you, I would have given up months ago. So thank you so much. I know I'm a PITA and talk too much, but I do really appreciate the help and encouragement.
Still a long way to go, but the pictures make me feel like I am getting somewhere.

It's looking good m8

When it's done you'll pat yourself on the back for a job well done - and you'll wonder what all the fuss and moaning was about.

Now. I know you said that you want to have that first drive when it's totally finished. But don't you, maybe just a tiny bit, want to take it out on the road for a slow cruise round the block..?

Nope. Ironically I fixed the DSC faults today, so it now has no lights on the dash (apart from the airbag one obviously) and is ready to go.

How did you fix them?
I replaced my drowned sensors with used ones from a post on here. So I didn't 'fix' them just replaced with working ones. They both look like new and the seller didn't try and charge a fortune. So all was good.

Electric window switches have been re-routed to the door cards. I used two pole switches and made the spindles fit my 'retro' winder handles.

The wiring is extremely simple if anyone doesn't know.
The Z3 has 4 wires to the existing switches......lives for up, down and the internal illumination; and an earth. The 'one shot' up and down is done by internal switching in the existing housing.
The new switches require the lives for up and down and the earth. These are connected to the original mirror electrics within the doors behind the footwell speakers.
There is no illumination for the new switches so the original live has been terminated and sealed. The one shot up and down no longer works with the new simple switches.
